Wincheap Primary wanted to offer their children somewhere to inspire them to read. The school's Reading Lead heard about ABC at a local teacher hub meeting, and got in touch to discuss the possibilities for the huge light filled room they dreamed of transforming.
On first visit it was clear to everyone that there was some remedial work to do before ABC could start, and a list of jobs including double glazing the windows, ripping up the carpets and painting the walls was made. The premises team were incredible and set to work transforming the room into a fabulous space ready for the charity to get to work.
Underneath the worn carpet a fantastic parquet wooden floor was revealed and polished, led lights installed and the walls repaired and old furniture was removed. With brilliant Rainforest wall art, a fantastic wooden reading platform installed plus more than 1,000 top quality pre-loved books on the shelves the room was ready for its new lease of life.
