James Wolfe

This small community school in the heart of Greenwich wanted a much needed glow-up for their existing library. Although well used and well loved, it was no longer fit for purpose. The school educates children between the ages of 3 and 8, and the current bookcases were so tall the children were unable to access the books easily and struggled to choose their stories.

A very motivated and supportive PTA fundraised extensively, and ABC were asked to transform the room from top to bottom, including painting and carpeting. The room went on lockdown from the children while we worked our magic with our team of partners, following the children's wish list and mood boards to ensure nothing was left out.

The result was a stunning enchanted woodland, with a magical fairy book nook, lights, grassy floor and inspirational artwork.

The children were so excited to see their new room - which was opened by the Mayor of Greenwich - and spent time taking in all the little details ABC had planted for them to find. However, as usual, it didn't take long for them all to choose a book and settle down in their favourite spot to read it.

We know this room will offer the children somewhere to get lost in a book, and to listen to stories being read to them, where they can escape to and invest in them a love of reading that will last a lifetime.
