Highfield Infants School
Highfield Infants were the winners of a social media competition we held asking for nominations for a school to receive an ABC Book Corner. We were inundated with entries, but the school took their prize one step further by asking us to make-over an area they wanted to transform.
Space is tight in this lovely school, so the library had to be squeezed into a corridor with an emergency exit at one end which needed to be kept clear. However, with some clever zoning with rugs and a re-routing of paths taken by the children to get to their classes this space has been transformed into a haven of reading for pleasure.
There's the usual teacher reading chair, hundreds of pre-loved books, cushions, rugs and a calm peaceful area we know the children will love.
