What a lovely surprise to be finalists in two awards at this year's ABBBAs!
ABC was nominated in the Best on High Street award and Best Sustainable and Environmental categories and we couldn't have been more delighted.
So why these categories?
ABC's hub in Bromley South serves visitors to the High Street, encouraging people to drop off their pre-loved books. Our drop off points at Langford Russell and Bromley Community House also offer a location that shoppers can use to support the charity.
With preloved books being at the heart of our work, we encourage the re-use and re-donation of books that their young owners have outgrown meaning that during the last six years ABC has saved more than 100 tonnes of books from potential landfill.
With two of ABC's trustees, David Spragg and Deborah Maclaren we went along to the celebratory evening along with all the other brilliant nominees. We narrowly missed out on both awards - but worthy winners were Bell's Accountants (High Street) and Greener and Cleaner (Environmental / Sustainable) - huge congratulations to them.
However, an award was given to ABC's Chair of Trustees, David Spragg who won Bromley Community Star, well deserved and we are lucky to have him heading up ABC!
